Why Friends Matter

Why+Friends+Matter
Fallyn Sanders

High school can be a big deal, and having friends makes it way better. Friends are your squad, they’ve got your back through all the ups and downs. Friends are also there to support you, whether you’re stressing about school, family, or just going through a rough patch. Having friends who get you can make things feel less overwhelming.

Friends help you grow as a person and through our interactions with them, we gain new perspectives and discover more about ourselves. Whether it’s trying out new hobbies together, exploring new interests, or just sharing stories and experiences, friends play a crucial role in shaping who we are and who we want to become. Friends learn plenty from each other and have all sorts of adventures together that you’ll never forget when you leave.

To keep your friendships strong, you have to put in the effort. Talk to each other, listen when they need to vent, and make time to hang out together. Being there for each other is what makes friendships last. It’s not always easy to find the time to hang out or to keep in touch, especially when life gets busy with school, extracurricular activities, and other commitments. But making the effort to stay connected is essential for keeping our friendships strong and healthy.

Finally, if you want to make new friends, don’t be shy. Get involved in clubs, sports, or any extracurricular activities where you can meet people who like the same stuff as you. Even attending one of our many school events can lead to you making new friends. Just be yourself and be nice to everyone you meet. Strike up conversations, be open-minded, and most importantly, be yourself! You never know who you might click with!

In the end, friendships are what make high school such a memorable and meaningful experience. They’re the ones who make the good times great and the tough times bearable. So, cherish your friendships, put in the effort to maintain them, and don’t be afraid to open your heart to new connections along the way. After all, life is better when it’s shared with friends by your side. Enjoy the ride!
