Volcano Hot Pot made its grand Sugar Land opening on March 20, 2024. Having never tried hot pot, and being an avid BBQ lover myself, I couldn’t neglect this gem, and decided to visit October 5th.
Upon entering Volcano Hot Pot, the first thing that I notice is how clean and orderly the restaurant is. I especially loved the relatively dim lighting, along with the pervasive smell of soup, as it adds to the “homey” feeling of the restaurant. Located right by Williams Trace, along Highway 6, Volcano Hot Pot is a very convenient place for me to get a great meal with friends and family.
I would characterize myself as being a rookie when it comes to hot pot and Korean BBQ, but I was astonished by how helpful the staff were in teaching me what to do and how to cook the meat. When it comes to what I recommend ordering, I’d say the Szechuan and herbal hot pot are good options, as one provides a well-spiced kick, while the herbal soup presents flavors that work with a vast number of meats, and veggies. Additionally, because it’s a Korean style BBQ/hot-pot restaurant, you simply pay an “entrance fee,” (25$ for only 1 hot pot, and 45$ for hot pot and BBQ) and you can eat as much as you desire.
All in all, if you desire a quality hot pot experience, at a competitive price, Volcano has you covered.
