An Untraditional Thanksgiving

Sachika Yadav, Reporter

The holidays are a time to spend quality time with your loved ones no matter how much they may irritate you. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and for many people this means stuffing their faces with turkey and pumpkin pie. Some people might go out to eat, or just stay home and have a movie marathon. Every family has their own unique family traditions, and no matter what you decide to do, it is important that you do it surrounded by the people you love. Here are some traditions that go against the norm of celebrating thanksgiving.thanksgiving

While many families sit around to watch a football game, others would like to take a more physical approach in spending quality time during the holidays. Some families prefer to have a generational paintball game each y
ear, the younger children going against the older adults. As well as being an active way to celebrate thanksgiving, it is also a great bonding experience. Another great bonding experience is going camping and roughing it out instead of staying inside in the warm comfort of your home. Many families like to hike up to the mountains in the cold, and roast a turkey and marshmallows over a campfire instead of cooking a five course dinner, and singing songs around the fire for entertainment. Other people would rather do anything than go shopping during the Thanksgiving weekend. So, instead of waiting all night in line at stores, some families prefer to bond over craft projects. These families come together in their loathing of Black Friday sales, cooking and creating different crafts that they could use.

No matter how you spend your Thanksgiving, the most important thing is to spend it with your family.
