When Zootopia first came out back in 2016, it was an immediate hit. Many kids that are now watching Zootopia 2 will enjoy it. It has the aspect of humor, emotions and real life lessons that anyone could learn from. It was also a way to expand Judy and Nick’s cop relationship by showcasing both of the ups and downs they went through in the movie.
One thing that really stood out to me is how the second movie expands the world without losing what made it special. Instead of repeating the same storyline, Zootopia 2 explores new conflicts that appeal to Judy and Nick as they are older. It tackles themes like ambition, loyalty, and what it means to stand up for the people you love when things get complicated. It’s surprisingly thoughtful for an animated movie but still fun enough that you never feel weighed down. When watching it, I did not fall asleep which is very rare for me. The movie kept me entertained the entire time. This movie implied that not everything is perfect and that is okay. Judy and Nick had some issues that real people have everyday but in the end everything turned out okay. It gives us hope for our own lives and impacts many. Zootopia still has problems, and Judy and Nick still have to fight for what’s right. Throughout the first and second movie we see both characters go through good character development. At the end, they showed us a new problem that could be foreseen for the next movie, which makes us fans even more excited.
I would give this movie a 9/10. With all the new characters, new problems, and room for another movie really made the movie special. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a light-hearted movie that can make you laugh a little. There are no specific ages but it is a great movie for the younger viewers. If you ever get a chance to go to the movie theaters go see Zootopia 2!
