  1. Go to a Museum: There is a museum for almost anything including the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Natural Science Museum, Holocaust Museum, Health Museum, the Menil Collection, and many more. Check out the new Kusama: At the End of the Universe exhibit at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts that is an array of golden lights available through September 18th. It’s also Bank of America’s first weekend freebie for cardholders with free admission to the Houston Zoo and Houston Museum of Fine Arts.

     

  2. Have a Picnic: With many public parks in Sugar Land, having a picnic is a great option to soak up the remaining summer sun with your friends. A potluck, ordering out, lunch in the park or playing outdoors would be a nice break from your busy schedule. Fishing, biking, and football; you can enjoy an unforgettable day of fun with your family or friends.

 

  1. Take me out to the Ballgame: With baseball season well on it’s way, you and your family can head on over for an evening at the Sugar Land Skeeters or Houston Astros game. Cheer on the Astros or the Skeeters for a night full of  great food and entertainment.

 

  1. Go to the Pool: With fall just around the corner, public swimming pools are starting to close. With that being said, don’t waste any time! Make your way over to your neighborhood pool to spend some time swimming before time runs out. Don’t forget your shades and sunscreen!

 

  1. Waterway Square in the Woodlands: Open on Saturday and Sunday with free admission, Waterway Square located in the Woodlands is hosting a Labor Day special. It is open on Saturday and Sunday with free admission. Spend this weekend enjoying live music, face painting, interactive graffiti presented by Houston’s Aerosol Warfare. You will definitely have a great Labor Day!

 

  1. Do it for the Cause: While jamming out to live music and dancing from Brazil, TX, head down to Sugar Land Town Center to help support the Alzheimer’s cause from 7:30-9:30 on Friday September 4th.

 

  1. Go Paintballing: With your friends and family, you can enjoy a fun day of paintballing at Tank’s Paintball Park with an $11 Groupon. Along with being a great team effort and communication game, paintballing also helps with practicing your shot and aim. Compete will your team to capture that flag, but make sure to not get hit! Don’t forget to wear long clothing to protect your skin!

 

  1. Do some last minute Gardening: Until fall arrives, there is still a chance to do some last minute gardening in your yard. With the upcoming weather, planting trees and shrubs early will help them grow extra tall by next spring. Planting spring flowers and crops now will also help your plants look and smell beautiful by next May.

 

  1. Go visit a Farmers Market: On September 3rd you have a chance to visit the Farmers Market at Imperial Sugar Land for fresh fruits, veggies, organic meats, homemade foods, entertainment, food trucks, artwork, and even jewelry.

 

  1. Have a Labor Day BBQ: Whether at a local park or in your backyard, a great way to spend your Labor Day weekend is having a barbeque and spending time with your friends and family. Grilling delicious food and planning fun activities is just what you need for a relaxing and enjoyable Labor Day.
