1. “Hurry Up Tomorrow” — The Weeknd

Hurry Up Tomorrow is the 6th studio album by The Weeknd, released Jan. 31, 2025. It is accompanied with a new movie, a new tour, and as the Weeknd puts it, “a new everything.” The album has 22 tracks with features like Lana Del Rey, Travis Scott, and Playboy Carti and has fans anticipating its release. Since The Weeknd is dropping so many other things that are accompanying this album, like the movie, the tour, and the features, fans are unsure if the project will be cohesive and of good quality since there is so much going on. Nonetheless, fans have already cemented what their favorite tracks will be and are lining up, in the online queue of course, for tickets to the tour.
2. “Captain America: Brave New World”

The MCU continues to expand and grow as Steve Rogers passes the torch to Sam Wilson, keeping the Captain America legacy alive. The movie stars Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, and Rose Salazar. The movie will premiere in theatres Feb. 14, and follows Sam Wilson on his attempt to reveal a global plot that if not stopped, will cost millions of lives. Directed by Julius Onah, the movie had a $180 million budget and is expected to do very well in the theatres, unlike some other recent Marvel films. Wilson sheds a new light on the Captain America character and is one of the front faces of this new era in Marvel. After seeing Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” fans are excited to see Mackie’s performance on his first solo film in the MCU.
3. “Snow White” (Live Action)

The classic tale of love and power that we all know and love, Snow White, is set to be released as a live action version on March 21st. The insanely talented Rachel Zegler stars as Snow White, and Gal Gadot was cast as the Evil Queen. Zegler has given a multitude of performances on and off screen, showcasing her vocals and proving that she is a perfect choice for Snow White. Zegler has starred in “West Side Story”, “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”, and the Broadway version of “Romeo and Juliet”. While the promotion of the movie got off to a bit of a rocky start, fans have come to their senses and gotten excited for the release of the movie. Disney has been on a roll with the live action films they have been doing, and hopefully Snow White is just as commercially successful as the films before it.
4. “The Black Phone 2”

Following the initial success of the first movie, The Black Phone 2 has been in the works and is premiering in theatres October 17. The first movie follows a boy named Finney, played by Mason Thomas, who has been abducted and kept in a soundproof basement. The killer is a masked man, played by Ethan Hawke, and has claimed multiple victims before Finney, with whom he connects with through a black phone with a disconnected cord. Through the ghosts, Finney learns ways to escape and defend himself from the killer, practicing and attempting to escape multiple times. While all of this is happening, his dad and younger sister are searching for him, and showcases through the story how much this tragedy has affected the family dynamic. While critics didn’t necessarily rave about the movie, fans and movie goers alike had very positive reviews of the film. Since the second film is set to be released about two weeks before Halloween, horror movie fans will definitely be in for a treat!
5. “Say You’ll Remember Me” by Abby Jimenez

With multiple smash hit books and series, Abby Jimenez has cemented herself as one of the top romance writers from within the last few years. Through releases like “Yours Truly”, “Just for the Summer”, “Part of Your World”, and “The Happy Ever After Playlist”, Jimenez has gained somewhat of a cult following, with fans asking for new releases a week after a new book drops. “Say You’ll Remember Me” is the story of Xavier and Samantha after they went on a singular date and hit it off extremely well, but with Samantha’s family troubles, she tells him to move on from her and find someone else. Determined to make it work, Xavier tries his hardest to prove to Samantha that she is worth the trouble and that she can trust him. As an author who has had a book picked for the Good Morning America Book Club, Jimenez’s release is one of the most anticipated book releases for all of 2025. The description does have her audience wondering, will it be happily ever after for Samantha and Xavier, or will they have to move on, always wondering what could’ve been?
6. “Great Big Beautiful Life” by Emily Henry

Emily Henry is no stranger to popularity or being in a Top 10 Best… list, especially since her big break with the book “Beach Read”, released back in 2020. Henry is also known for the books “People We Meet on Vacation” and “Book Lovers”, along with a newer release called “Funny Story”. Henry creates a different world within her books, which is why she is adored by readers and is one of the most popular writers from the last few years as well, just like Abby Jimenez. “Great Big Beautiful Life” is set to follow the story of two writers who are collaborating on a book together, with multiple ups and downs, plot twists, and a few mysteries here and there. Fans are clawing at Henry’s door for this release, excited for a light read to enjoy towards the end of spring. The book is set to be released in April, and is already causing lots of talk on what fans think the story will entail.
7. “So Close to What” — Tate McRae

Being called a mix of Britney Spears and Madison Beer is not a light compliment, especially not one taken lightly by Tate McRae. Catapulted to stardom after the release of “Greedy” in 2023, McRae has been called an “it girl” of pop music, with her incredible live vocals and dance skills. Just recently, McRae’s Think Later world tour in 2024, McRae announced her new album, era, and tour on instagram, with fans going absolutely insane in her comments and online in general. While fans have called her an “it girl” of pop, critics have chosen to play it safe by calling her a “B-tier” popstar, since she has not been in the game that long and also has not produced as many hits as a record would like. Her newly released single, Sports Car, that is set to accompany the new album, is popular amongst fans but has fallen somewhat flat with casual listeners. A lot of people seem to think that McRae has it in the bag with the pre-chorus, but then she reaches the chorus and basically starts to whisper and talk, which is not what people want to listen to on a song. Although Tate McRae has received some criticism and backlash for her songs, fans are excited to see what this new era will bring for their fav!
8. “The Right Person Will Stay”– Lana Del Rey (maybe…hopefully?)

After teasing this album for around a year and a half, Lana Del Rey is set to release her 10th studio album on May 21, 2025. The album is rumored to have a Southern gothic sound and vibe, with the producers on the album being Jack Antonoff, Luke Robert, Zachary Dawes, and Drew Erickson. Now the reason why the “maybe…hopefully?” is in parentheses because this album was originally supposed to come out earlier, as in Sept. of 2024 earlier. The leading single for the original album was Tough, featuring Quavo, and the original album title was Lasso. It has been reported that Del Rey “scrapped” Lasso because it was not the sound she had been wanting to create, so she renamed the album and started from the ground up. Fans of Del Rey are hopeful that this album will be released, but are trying not to get too excited in case the release date is pushed back again. But overall, fans have had a positive reaction towards the announcement of “The Right Person Will Stay”, and are hopeful they will get to listen to it.
9. “How to Train Your Dragon” (Live Action)

Live action movies shot to the top of animators’ lists after seeing the success of Disney’s “Aladdin” and “Beauty and the Beast”, it seems like it is “How to Train Your Dragon”’s turn to get a remake for the theatres. Fans of the trilogy have been in a drought since the “final” release (spoiler alert: it was NOT! The final release of the series. I mean did we really think it would be?) and once the trailer was released, Dreamworks had fans kicking, screaming, and throwing a fit about when the movie will be released. The movie is set to premier on June 13, making it a perfect summer flic for families and friends to see. Kids who have never seen the original animated movie may find a new interest that they adore from watching this movie, and those who grew up with the original can fall in love with their favorite characters all over again!
