On Saturday, Oct. 10, two groups were protesting the Black Lives Matter movement in a courtyard near the Denver Arts Museum. When arguments broke out, a security guard fired his weapon, killing one man. 

According to CNN, on Monday the body was identified as Lee Keltner, 49. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was from a gunshot wound.

It is speculated that the man who shot Lee Keltner was not part of the protests but a private security guard. 

According to the Denver Post, private security guard Matthew Dolloff, 30, was acting in self-defense when he opened fire. Dolloff had worked at a number of events in Colorado, but at the protest, the guards were supposed to be unarmed. 

Questions have arisen as to if Dolloff was even qualified to be a security guard at the event.

According to the Washington Post, officials say he was not licensed to work as a guard in the city. He was being held on charges of first-degree murder and could be facing more for working without the license. As of Oct. 15, he is to be charged with murder.
