CHS staff member dreams big
March 10, 2017
Mr. Eugene Howard, an impaired professional in the special education department, is planning on running for Congress and then the Senate in 2022. Always having a burning desire and interest in history and political biography, he said that the moment his world was changed was the birth of his daughter.
“‘We stand at the edge of a new frontier.’ At this point, we are in the frontier,” Howard quoted JFK and then said his input.
Preparing for Congress and the Senate can take a lot of work and effort. Howard has had to read all about politics to understand how the system works. Registering with the federal office, filling out paperwork, getting on the ballot, and so much more is required before the election.
“I have to align myself with the local community government and educational leadership. I have to create a platform to show my constituents that I am more concerned about the people rather than a party and will do what is necessary to make our community great for all people of all races and creeds,” Howard said.
He is the first in his family to be this involved in politics, which will make the process require lots of determination. Both his children and being an educator has helped to inspire him to be involved with political affairs. This has also inspired him to make changes and an impact while in office.
“I want every child to be able to read, write, paint, and know the finer things the world has to offer and for America to know family values. And I also want to show that America only wants to be at peace and show light to the world. Not by force, but with peace,” Howard said.
He spoke of running not just for names sake, but he wants the community to be a better place for all ethnicities and sexes. He would like to travel to see the world and its beauty.
“What better way to see the world than as a good-willed ambassador of the United States?” Howard said.
If Howard is elected, then he will get to stay and live in Texas, but he will have an office in Washington. He will get to interact with everyone from all diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and ages.
This will be a big leap in Howard’s life and potentially our community, state, and country. The school wishes him luck as he continues to follow his dreams.
