Best: Ariana Grande stuns in a Wicked inspired pink number.
With her first look of the night, Grande walks the red carpet in a Haute Couture Gown, which was covered in crystals with a light pink top piece. The crystals fell in somewhat of an umbrella around Grande and served as a reference to “Wicked”. She was accompanied with the rest of the “Wicked” cast, and of course Cynthia Erivio, who also walked the carpet in a Louis Voitton black gown that unfortunately did not land with the audience. Grande and Erivio have both continued to channel their characters from “Wicked” with multiple carpet looks and the 2025 Oscars was a perfect place for Grande’s Galinda-inspired gown!
Worst: Timothee Chalamet unfortunately twins with the guy from Curious George…
While trends have proven that the shade butter yellow is in for this year, Chalamet might want to stay away from said color. With Kylie Jenner on his arm, who stunned in a simple black sparkly dress, it should be common sense to choose a suit that makes one look halfway decent. I mean come on, you have Kylie Jenner next to you! Step it up! Chalamet’s suit was eye-catching, and not in a positive way. It was a bright yellow that washed him out and all around just a bad pick. Chalamet usually is successful on the carpet, but unfortunately fell flat for this event.
Best: Selena Gomez channels old Hollywood in her dazzling dress.
With her return to acting, Gomez has been seen at multiple award shows for the past couple of years with stunning looks across the board, but this most recent dress may take the cake. With over 16,000 beads/crystals used on her dress, Gomez dazzled in pictures on the red carpet. It was a dusty pink and somewhat skin tone gown that was skin tight and pooled at the feet, with her short hair simply curled at the ends. Gomez was able to hit all the marks with this dress, and even though the public consensus surrounding “Emilia Perez” was negative, the overwhelming majority agreed that the dress was beautiful and even one of the best looks of the night!
Worst: Zoe Saldana falls short with awkward lengths and weird proportions.
Although “Emilia Perez” took the nominations by storm, Saldana unfortunately did not bring that energy with her to the carpet. With an awkward tiered maroon skirt and a sparkly somewhat see through top, those watching at home all let out a sigh of disappointment. In a Saint Laurent designer dress, there are two awkwardly placed tiers and then a continuation of the material down to her feet, with a skin tone top with zig zag patterns of black jewels. The only thing that truly shined in this outfit was her necklace, which unfortunately was a completely different theme from her dress, since it was a silver snake with a green jewel. All in all, it was just a mess and a surprising let down since she has had beautiful dresses in the past.
Best: Demi Moore respects the balance of trend and class with a beautiful sparkly silver dress.
In an Armani silver gown and a silhouette type waist, Demi Moore swept just about every other look of the night. With simple accent silver jewelry, slightly curled hair, and simple yet stunning makeup, everything fell into place perfectly and easily became a favorite of the night. The dress looked like something a Tim Burton character may wear, in a good way. Demi Moore is quite used to serving nothing but good looks on the carpet, in past years always showing up to award shows in beautiful gowns and simple accessories that make her stand out. Even though Moore did not walk away with the award of the night, she definitely walked away with best-dressed of the night.
Whether the celebrities made waves with their new fashion statement or not, fans around the world were excited to see what went down on the carpet.
