Students went to prom on April 5 at Hotel Zaza, dancing the night away with their friends and enjoying a quintessential high school memory.
“I really liked prom this year because I thought the venue was really nice,” junior Jessica Lee said. “It was really pretty and we were able to get lots of nice pictures.”
Even though it’s mainly for seniors, many juniors enjoyed prom this year, going with their friends and dates. With the end of the year approaching, they cherished this memory as a “warm-up” for their senior prom next year.
“My favorite aspect of prom was the fact that the decorating fit the vibe that the venue offered,” senior Carly Fann said. “It really felt like we were some sort of VIP guests, especially having orchestra members play music while we entered.”
The venue was loved by many attendees due to the location and extravagance of the hotel, as well as the attention to detail. There were numerous opportunities for pictures that were appreciated by the students, especially couples that wanted cute pictures before they went to college.
“A tip I would give to upcoming seniors for next year is to definitely take your photos before going to prom and not after, because you’re gonna be sweaty,” senior Kelly Gao said. “Just get everything done before so you can enjoy prom stress-free.”
Though prom does come with high expectations, students were able to enjoy prom due to the hard work of everyone who planned the event, the lavish decorations, and the good food. AS one of the last large high school experiences they had before graduation, prom was an irreplaceable memory.
“The music was loud, the dancing was messy, and everyone was just enjoying the moment,” senior Sofia Paoletti said. “It wasn’t perfect, but it was a great way to wrap up high school.”
