Let’s be honest, not all classrooms are created equal. Some feel like a warm hug and others feel like a prison with dry-erase boards. But we’ve surveyed the spaces, analyzed the vibe of the learning spaces, and stared way too long at the string lights — and the results are in.
Also, fun fact: Studies have shown that aesthetic classrooms actually help students feel safer, more focused, and motivated to learn. If the room looks like a cozy Pinterest board, your brain goes, “Ah yes, it is now time to thrive.”
1st Place: Ms. Kelani
This classroom is not just a room, it’s an experience. You walk in suddenly wanting to journal your thoughts, light a candle (don’t), and become the best version of yourself. It is filled with soft lighting, real plants that are somehow still alive, and matching supplies that make your inner child scream with joy. You could literally cry here and it would feel poetic. Absolute number one, no debate.
2nd Place: Mrs. Badillo
This classroom gives off cozy coffee shop vibes with the warm tones, cute posters from around the world, and a general atmosphere of “You’re safe here.” Like, you know you could fail a test and still get a supportive sticky note on your desk the next day. The room doesn’t try too hard — it just knows it’s that girl.
3rd Place: Mrs. Tielke
Tielke’s room is chaotic — there’s color, personality, two mini libraries, and a suspiciously large collection of balloons on her wall. It may not be symmetrical or color-coded to perfection (only the books are), but it feels alive — like creativity could jump out of the corner and smack you in the face (in a good way).
4th Place: Mr. Eppes
Eppes tried — there are signs of life with an aesthetic DECA wall and spiders in the corner that may or may not be crazy. It’s halfway between “college lecture room” and “Target clearance aisle”. Points for effort, but the aesthetic hasn’t fully formed yet.
5th Place: Mrs. McMennamy
Listen, McMennany’s room is functional — it exists. There are desks, a whiteboard, and…yeah. It’s like toast with no butter — technically a meal, but not exciting. If you close your eyes, it could be any classroom in any school in any district. The vibes have left the chat, but the art wall is delightful, so bonus points for that!
6th Place: Mrs. Yang
We are 92% sure this classroom hasn’t changed since 2021. The posters are the same with just figurative language, the room is really cluttered, like Yang just got into a new class, and there’s a weird table in the front that no one dares to sit in. We won’t lie, it is pretty and could have won, but it’s a time capsule of chaos. May it one day find peace.
A good classroom can make or break your day. It turns out, when classrooms look good, we feel good — more secure, more motivated, and more like humans and less like educational zombies. So here’s to the teachers who turned four beige walls into mini sanctuaries. To the rest…there’s always Dollar Tree.
