What’s a good horror book to get in the Halloween spirit with?

Oh, I mean, I think like “A Discovery of Witches.” Of course, I mean, I still love my Harry Potter. I think Harry Potter is a great, you know, you know, like holiday read, you know, because they talk about the Halloween and Christmas.

What are your thoughts on the power of fiction books and how they uniquely transport us?

There’s that famous quote that books are can be mirrors, they could be windows, they could be sliding glass doors. And so I definitely think that I’ve always thought, y’all always hear me say this, that I think that books can change your life, they can save your life. I’ve never heard of a book taking a life. But I think that books are powerful tools to take you someplace that you’ve always wanted to go, and you might never get a chance to go.

What do fantastical heroes and villains have to teach us?

A lot of times, along with that superpower comes a weakness. I mean, think about like Superman and Kryptonite. I think that the super superheroes of the sort have to overcome something. It’s very inspirational for all of us.

How are you planning to celebrate Halloween?

I purchased a Barbie, the Barbie dream house, and it’s now become a haunted house. So I’m still working on that. And I’m gonna have a great reveal on Thursday night.
