Stress can cause many people to feel overwhelmed, whether it is school related stress, family, or work. However, there are many efficient ways to cope with the stress school can cause.
It can be especially stressful for new high schoolers such as freshmen. To help handle stress, seniors have found some ways to cope.
“I handle my stress by going on walks around my neighborhood to clear my mind,” senior Harper Houston said.
When feeling stressed out Houston likes to take time for herself to reflect, by going on walks. Other students have used similar ways to cope with stress.
“To handle stress I make sure to take time for myself and not focus all my time on school,” senior Kareena Patel said.
Many students have found that taking a step back from school and giving themselves a break helps them most when coping with stress. However it is still important to be able to manage your school work.
“Having your priorities straight like prioritizing your school and studying habits, if you have quizzes and tests all on the same day, don’t study the day before spreading it out,” senior Hannah Hunter said. “Having a lot of balance is really important.”
Hunter said she believes “what you give is what you get”.
“I put in the work, I know the amount of work that I need to put in for studying for tests and quizzes, and I am usually rewarded with that,” Hunter said.
