As the 2023-24 school year comes to an end, seniors will say their final goodbyes at graduation on May 25.
“I’ll miss my friends the most and the teachers who helped me get through the years,” senior Iman Khan said.
Although some students are excited about what may happen after high school and pursuing what they want to do in the future, others feel that there is a lot they will be leaving behind and miss.
“I’m not really looking forward to not knowing what’s gonna happen in the future, and loss of friendships after graduation.” senior Faris Younes said.
Many memories will be cherished as seniors prepare themselves for graduation, and their last day here. Relationships with teachers and other fellow students may be lost in the near future when entering this new chapter, but will always be very special to them.
“I am ready for this new chapter of my life because I feel prepared to go into the real world,” senior Noor Abdou said.
After graduation, students will have to start this new part of their life independently and unfortunately leave old friends behind. Even though this might hurt, there is still a lot for them to look forward to, as how they act and treat this part of their lives will determine how their futures may look.
“I’m looking forward to having a lot of freedom after graduation,” senior Ahmad Hulays said.“I feel that’s when opportunities come and things in life start moving.”
Seniors knew this day would come eventually, which is why many feel mentally prepared. Throughout these four years, they’ve experienced many different things and learned many lessons which will hopefully help them in the near future.
“I feel like I’m ready to start this new chapter of my life because I’ve been adequately prepared,” Khan said, “I feel I’ve learned the ups and downs of it all through my time at high school.”
