With an incredible game on Nov. 2 taking a 41-6 win, the Freshman football team had an incredible end to their season.
With TDs scored by #3 Trey Rivera, #12 Albert Zhou, 2 TDs scored each by #2 George Jreissaty and #1 Bo Cimino, amazing fumble recoveries by #28 Jacob Nguyen and #11 Chase Robertson, and an outstanding team effort, they dominated the game.
“If we go out and play like we should and have been, then I think we will win,” said Rivera.
And of course, the Freshman team did just that.
With an amazing win vs. Travis earlier this season, the team shared some of their strengths going up against their opponents.
“We are a team. We don’t get mad at each other a lot and we work as a team, always,” said Chandiwala. “We go out there as a team, win as a team, lose as a team.”
The team also shared some insights on what their challenges were this season.
“We need to work harder during practice, and keep our minds set on the ultimate goal,” said Zhou.
“Sometimes during the game, we just throw the axe on our own foot.” Said Chandiwala. “That’s one of our biggest weaknesses.”
Lastly, the team shared what playing football has taught them over the years.
“Playing football taught me to take care of the people that you love and respect,” said Evans.
“Playing football has taught me to become a team player,” said Cimino.
“Playing football has taught me discipline,” said Chandiwala. “It has taught me to stay calm in difficult situations and has taught me integrity,”
Overall, the Freshman football team has had an amazing season and showed us that football isn’t just about skill; it’s about the friendships and the memories you make with the people that you will never forget.
