So You Find Yourself Single on Valentine’s Day

Claire Myers, Reporter

Being single on Valentine’s Day may seem like an upsetting position in which to be. Constantly hearing about friends plans with their girlfriends and boyfriends to the point that it is unbearable. Perhaps the plan is to hang out at home, maybe pop a bag of popcorn and sit watch a favorite TV show or favorite movie. While that can be fun, here are a few other ideas to help make Valentine’s Day more exciting when single.

Going Out With Friends
Going out with friends who are also planning to spend the day by themselves could be exciting to do. Catch a new popular movie that just recently came out, go out for dinner or go out to shop. It can be fun. Others could be feeling the same way about spending Valentine’s Day single.

Buying A Gift
While everyone is getting gifts from their significant other, going out and buying some new jewelry or clothing or maybe getting a favorite dessert or dinner could be fun.

Serving Others

Maybe focusing on others would be a good way to spend Valentine’s Day. Volunteer at a shelter or a nursing home or join a group that is going out to do service for the day. It can show others that they matter, too.

Enjoy the Single Life!
Getting down in the dumps about not having a significant other is no fun. Going out and having fun can be enjoyable! Making memories will help with the problem. Be happy if single and not a part of all of the drama that comes along with being in a relationship. Maybe that special someone is out there.
