The championship game in this year’s March Madness was North Carolina vs Gonzaga. North Carolina entered the National Championship for the second time in a row, back-to-back. Gonzaga was making their first National Championship appearance. This game was going to be very tight due to both of the team’s defensive and offensive abilities.

The first half started very close. Both teams were scoring the ball efficiently, as well as using their defensive skills in a smart manner. Considering that some of the North Carolina players lost last year in that nail-biting loss against Villanova, North Carolina was playing at their highest abilities, diving for any loose balls, sprinting back on defense, and shooting down the court on transition. Gonzaga was a very young team and at first, they were a bit nervous, but then started becoming a lot more confident during the course of the game. North Carolina went into halftime winning the game.

The second half started and Gonzaga started to outplay the Tar Heels and with 4 minutes left the Bulldogs got their first lead of the whole entire game. The Tar Heels had a huge amount of pressure finishing the game. In the last 2 minutes, the Tar Heels went on a 10-2 run, which gave them the National Championship trophy with a score of 65-71. This years Championship game was a very good, with great play both ways.
