19 CHS girls win awards in NCWIT

Caitlin Lau is a National and Local winner of the NCWIT aspirations award.  In addition, 19 girls have received various levels of the award including five National honorable mentions.

“Clements girls in computing continue to do an amazing job,” said Lorena Lubna, teacher and sponsor. “ I am so very proud of their achievements. Please congratulate them if you see them.”

The mission of NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) is to
●     Encourage young women to persist in computing, once their interest is piqued
●     Embrace an identity of ‘someone who does computing’
●     Provide additional activities and opportunities that deepen persistence and identity in computing.
All award recipients, receive 2 engraved trophies: one to take home and one to present to their school.  Recipients also receive NCWIT logo bags with fun swag items, information, and resources.
