As a result of their hard work, thirty-five upperclassmen will head to the Texas Forensic Association State Meet March 8-11 at Plano West Senior High School to compete among the best in speech and debate.

The speech team also had an outstanding group of first year members who made huge contributions this year and enabled the team to win the following sweepstakes awards at tournaments throughout the school year:

September:  2^nd place at Elkins

October:  1^st place at Bellaire and Lamar Consolidated

November:  2^nd place at Katy-Taylor and 1^st place at Dulles (We split the team that weekend.)

December:  1^st place at Alief Taylor and Tompkins

January:  1^st place at Katy and Houston Lamar

February:  1^st place at Seven Lakes

2017 STATE QUALIFIERS-CHS

 Some students will compete in the East Texas NSDA District Tournament March 2-4 and April 1 in hopes of qualifying for the NSDA National Tournament in Birmingham June 18-23.
